 Your flight from the
USA to Cordoba will be on LAN airlines. They are the premier air
carrier in South America and are partners with American
Airlines. So don’t forget to give me your AA frequent flyer
number.
Upon your arrival in Cordoba, Rosina will meet you and assist
you with clearing customs and your guns. Then it is a quick 1.5
hour drive in a comfortable van with plenty of snacks and cold
drinks to the Pigeon hunting area just outside of the city of
Cruz Del Eje in the Cordoba province. You will be staying at the
newly constructed Mataco Lodge. Here you will meet the owner and
guide Jorge Vasquez. Each large double occupancy room has it own
bath, and is air-conditioned and heated.
A typical hunting day will begin with wake up at 7:30 a.m.
Breakfast will be eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, and coffee. The
drive to the hunting fields will range from 10 minutes to 30
minutes. You will be in place and start shooting by 9:30 a.m.
Lunch will be in the field and will be the typical Argentina
fare of Empanadas (meat pies), Choripan (sausage), Beef, Pork,
or Chicken.
The shooting will continue to around 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. when
the pigeons stop flying for the day. Throughout the day you will
also have plenty of opportunities to shoot at the numerous doves
of the area.
Back at the lodge, after showering and cleaning up you will
have time for story telling and drinks before dinner. Dinner
will be fantastic since it is prepared by the lodges on chef
named Ariel. Be sure to read a write up by one of our hunters in the
October – November 2006 issue of the Dove hunter Magazine. Go to
www.dovesociety.org.
Hunters can expect to shoot 150 – 200 pigeons per day.
Many hunters shoot much more.
We have no minimum group size. Maximum group size is 12. A
$1000.00 non refundable fee per hunter is required to book you
trip. Individual Hunters welcome.
